(blue star ointment is usually for ringworm) my poodle has been knawing around his belly/groin area. there are little red patches from the chewing, and i thought blue star might help. i have used anti-itch cream and triple antibiotic ointment, and neither seemed to help.

This is an old remedy suggested by my vet many years ago..Mix douche powder with white Vaseline, until it makes a paste. . apply as needed..it soothes, promotes healing, and contains mild antibiotics and anti fungals. .. it does no harm if they lick it..This stuff really works1
Reply:I wouldnt recommend that. The pup will likely lick the ointment %26amp; get ill. There are several ointments on the market that are non-toxic and will help heal the skin. I put aloe on my dog at times. But it might be an allergy. The pup can have benedryl. It is usually 1mg per lb. (25lb dog = 1 pill) If the bumps go away there is likely an allergy.

This area was cultured and it came up gram positive enterrococcal bacteria. The area was weeping at first and has improved, but the area is still irritated, red and sensitive. My partner and I have been monogamous, and neither one of us has an STD. She has recently suffered from vaginosis and both of us have used Flagell for a week.

I'm gonna tell you my secret my husband had the same problem and just for fun i lend him my razor the one i used for my legs with the gel for this purpose like Gillette sensitive skin the gel has aloe and rich nutrient for the skin so it will help a lot try and you'll see. remember razor for the lady and the gel from Gillette both for women.

my husband has had a rash for more than two years now because my nephew had reflux and vomited on his hand. it will almost go away, then come back. it is very painful and itchy at times. it was not there until contact with the vomit! Gross question, but we need an answer!

there is a product called TEND SKIN.you can go to tendskin.com this product works like magic on razor bumps.you just put a little bit on a cotton ball and spread on the neck and the bumps will be gone in minutes.go on the web site and look for the blue bottle with the gold cap.i think its called tend skin liquid.its kind of expensive so you might want to start out with the small 4oz. bottle and see if it works for you but i had the same problem(even calling in sick for work because the bumps looked bad)and this is the best product for this problem.good luck and hope this helps

Alot of things could be causing her to scratch. Take her to the vet again and ask them. Some times these things can only be solved by a vet with medicines that need to be applied to the affected areas, sometimes they need to take medicines. It just depends on what is causing the irritations. Get her back to the vet.

Put some baby footie (socks) on the dogs feet so he can't injure himself from scratching and don't get him shaved again-just a hair cut would do fine!
Reply:It sounds like a food allergy problem. Many pets are allergic to fillers so she is best off eating a food without fillers. I recommend Innova Evo. I have had excellent experience with it and it has zero fillers. There really isn't any kind of test to find out exactly what dogs are allergic to. Make sure she is eating a good quality diet.. Just cause a food has a big name doesn't at all mean it's a quality food with quality ingredients. Make sure she is getting plenty of fresh clean water.. Wash her blankets or bedding and rinse it a 2nd time to get out all soaps, and don't use a fabric softener.. Add omega 3 oils to her diet. Don't feed her any people food.. just a good quality diet. It can take up to a month to rid the system of the problem. You might also want to get yourself a new vet and get him to prescribe something or suggest something for the allergy.
Put apple cider vinegar in her drinking water.. just about 1 tsp per bowl. It will PH the system and help to fix her up. You can also mix it 50/50 with water and spray her down, or get a cloth and rinse her with the vinegar.. Helps take away the itch. Applecider vinegar takes the itch out of mosquito bites, black fly bites etc, it's likely that it will also take the itch out of flea bites etc.

Get the best animal hospital you can afford and if there is progress stay with them until the animal is well. If they are not helping, make a change until you find genuine help.

I took my Golden Retriever to get shaved 3 weeks ago. I was completely shocked to find that she was covered in a rash. She had not been scratching or anything before I took her. The groomer said to use Dial antibacterial soap. That has helped a little but it is still hanging around. Any ideas on some soaps before I just take her to the vet?

Because something mentioned here might sound right to use on her but it could in fact irritate her more. So my advise is to get her to the vet and dont bath her in anything until you talk with the vet.

Reply:Dial antibacterial sounds a little harsh to me. Goldens have very sensitive skin. If she is head to toe rash, I'd go to the vet. I have used benadryl spray on my goldens before with success and ask the vet what dose of oral benadryl you can give your dog - it can help a lot.
I wouldn't shave the golden in the future - they need their double coats - I have my groomer strip their undercoats down but we don't shave. I can see that it might have tripped off a rash. Also, more contact with grass or something the dog is allergic to because of less hair can set this off. Just based on my own dogs reactions to things.

My Pitbull is an inside dog, inside dogs can sometimes be allergic to any regular ousehold products and it can create an irratation for them. check her bed where she sleeps.It could asily be the detergent type you use to wash her pillows and blankets. If She is an outside dog, there might be something she is allergic to outside giving her this irratation, sometimes just a good bath with some shampoo from your local pet store can help. Ask someone there. They are usually very helpful with that sort.

I wouldn't shave the golden in the future - they need their double coats - I have my groomer strip their undercoats down but we don't shave. I can see that it might have tripped off a rash. If She is an outside dog, there might be something she is allergic to outside giving her this irratation, sometimes just a good bath with some shampoo from your local pet store can help. Ask someone there. They are usually very helpful with that sort.

This is a rather odd question. I have some abrasions on the insides of my labia, that are very irritating. They sting and itch a little bit. Finally, when you feel the area less painful, gently exfoliate the scales that may have formed (if you didn't get any scales, DON'T do this since you might end up irritating your skin even more), this will reveal the new skin underneath the irritated one...keep moisturizing heavily!!

A couple days ago me and my girlfriend had sex for the first time in three weeks to a month. This time was a lot longer and a lot rougher than we usually do it and immediately felt pain afterwards. Yesterday she noticed two blisters one on each side of her vaginal walls which look like the same ones you get in your mouth when you bite the inside of your lip really hard. She went to the doctor today and he said it may be herpes so he took a coulture to send it in. Until we get back the results I was hoping to be able to calm her down about it, do you think she has herpes or did we just have really rough sex?

I am an 30 year old healthy male. I have been married for the last 2 year. Since the last one month, i have getting a rash on my foreskin. It's more like a fungal infection and with it the foreskin gets rashes ( cracks ) thereby making it painful for erection or sex..!!!
