Skin irritation......?

iam 21 weeks pregnant. for the past few day i have this itching on my belly and i have red rashes also. my friends says you get this when you are pregnant. i live in UAE, is this because of the hot climate here or because the pregnant body produces more heat.

Skin irritation......?
You're susceptible to all the same sources of rashes that you would ordinarily be, plus some that can be directly related to your pregnancy. Most rashes in either case, amount to nothing more than a temporary inconvenience, and a mild annoyance. Rarely, some can be a cause or a sign of bigger problems for mom or baby. Generally, if a rash lasts for more than two or three days, or if it becomes really incomfortable for you, you should have a dermatologist take a look at it.

In the mean time, NetDoctor has some info for you to start with. Rising temperatures coincide with a rise in pityriasis rosea, so that's another possiblity not mentioned on the NetDoctor site. I've put a link in for the American Academy of Dermatology for that one. And just in case you'd like to see what other moms-to-be had to say about rashes during pregnancy, the bottom link is to the Berkley Parents Network.

Best wishes for you and baby :-)
Reply:Its normal. I hear that most will get it around the 6 or 7th month if they get it, but if you are really concerned just give your doc and call and ask him.
Reply:It's because your skin is stretching...very itchy and very normal.
Reply:it can be pupps which is a pregnacy rash that does not go away until you have the baby it is not harmful to you or the baby just uncomfortable. i'm almost 40 weeks and i had this ever since i turned 35 weeks and it started on my belly all i can tell you is try(lol) not to scratch it and buy either dove senitive skin soap or a soap with a good moisture live aveeno body wash and buy aveen anti itch cream and baby oil and vasiline it keep the skin from drying out and relieves the itch
