Skin irritation when my baby "floods" her diaper?

One the rare occasion when my little when overflows her diaper at night and the urine spreads up her little belly, no matter how well we clean her, she gets this skin irritation. Little red bumps, where ever she was wet (but not in the diaper). It seems to last for several days.

Any suggestions on what to use to help clear it up, or even what NOT to use.

Skin irritation when my baby "floods" her diaper?
any kind of baby ointment would work. Balmex, Desitin, etc. It is probably just diaper rash that doesn't happen in the diaper area because diapers are absorbent while urine will just sit there if they are wearing pajamas or diaper only.
Reply:aquafor, aveeno, or a home remedy we use for rash and eczema. one cup oatmeal one cup water. make paste and apply to area. oatmeal is good for different types of skin ailments including poison ivy and poison oak. it also helps to relieve skin inflammations, and is even good for acne.

good luck.
Reply:I use baby powder on my son at night. The one with cornstratch works the best. Keeps him dry all night.
Reply:desitin!
Reply:Buttpaste is the best. You can find it in target or at walmart. Works wonders!!

Skin irritation and cellulites?!?

sometimes after a long day in tight pants i have a reddish skin irration on my thighs, i thought something was wrong with me but i found out several friends of mine, about 12 have it aswell and we figured it has to be some kind of allergy or irritation against polyester, or whatever the cloth is made of.

its like, reddish stains, and goes away after some minutes.

does anyone know what it is exactly ?

also, my mother has cellulites and i fear getting it when im older.

like two friends of mine (age 14) already have it, and i really dont want it so is there any way i can prevent it???

:S

Skin irritation and cellulites?!?
dunno about the panty thing but about cellulite- if ur mom has it then u have more chances of having it, but now a days almost every one has it. As ur age is 14 i suggest u always keep ur legs toned then u'll not get any problem. and don't forget even victoria beckham has cellulite.
Reply:actually it means youre have a problem and its not the norm

you can get an amputation if neccessary hahahahaa

My Mom gets skin irritation/rashes often, why?

Hi all, I think my Mom has sensitive skin. I know she has to cut of the tags in the back of her shirts and blouses because it irritates her skin. And I just took her bra shopping and she wore it today and it was fine but when she took it off there were 2 rashes/ irritation on the top of her shoulders where the bra straps were. It was really red. I felt bad even though I know it wasn't my fault. But why is her skin like that? Is it a symptom of some condition? Is it just sensitive skin? Is there anything we can do to make it better? Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

My Mom gets skin irritation/rashes often, why?
sensitive skin definitely. Could be the fabrics or the washing formula she uses.

Pubic region skin irritation.?

I noticed lately that hair growing back after being shaved off is really rough and is causing severe skin irritation (whole area is itchy and red)...not a good thing for this area. What can I do??

Pubic region skin irritation.?
should not shave that area unless you are having a surgical procedure. keep it clean and dry and apply a thin coat of neosporin oint, if not improved in several days get it checked out for a possible yeast infection
Reply:Yeah, he's right. You really shouldn't shave there. A clipping is OK but it will always grow back like a beard (rough and rugged). I've made that mistake (itches like crazy).

Air Refresher Skin Irritation?

I have recently used an aerosol air refresher and now I have red hives that are very warm on my arms and legs. I have read the caution statement on the bottle and there is no mention of irritation to the skin only to the eyes and harmful or fatal if inhaled. Needless to say I will not use it any more and I am contracting the manufacture and ripping them a new but hole. I have called the number collect like the recording requested if do and the number will not accepted the collect call. All I want to do is ask them what is should do to ease or reverse the effects of this skin irritation it is very uncomfortable. I feel is should not have to spend my money on a long distance call when they ask for you to call collect. Have any of you had a reaction to an air refresher if so what did you do to ease the discomfort of the hives?

Air Refresher Skin Irritation?
I don't think you should use air freshners because it ruins your nose. And all it does is make you can't smell anything.
Reply:That sucks. I would first start with the skin. When you have a rash it is best to cool it down with an ice pack or cold water. When it is cold your are numbing the nerves that trigger the itchyness and the burn and discomfort. I would then next call a pharmasist and explain to them what has happened and could they recomend an over the counter drug to use to help treat the condition. If the skin irritant doesn't start getting better in a week I would then go see my doctor. Now the company that made the blasted stuff that gave you the reaction. You said the container listed a phone number but it would be long distance. I would google the phone number and see what it comes back listed as, just to make sure it is a legit number. I would also google the product name and see what happens. Hopefully you can get some helpful contact info. If nothing comes up helpful I would then contact my local Better Buisness Bearu and see if they couldn't locate the info and also file a complaint about the contact info not being made known to the public for a situation like this. Your next step should be taking the iteam public, not hugly, but at leaste for your community. Write a letter to the editor type of thing for your local paper. This should help prevent any more sales of the product and hopefully show the company that in order to buy a product there should be a way for us consumers to give the company a chance to make situations right again, if not, well sorry company your S.O.L. and don't deserve any future buisness from me or my community. Hope that helps ya out some. Good luck! Hope it gets to feeling way lots better very soon!

Skin irritation to shirt material?

Ok I work as a bellboy/valet. When I first started working there I never really had any allergy's to clothing and never had any irritations on my skin, particularly on my back. But now, on my back there is a horrible irritation on both sides of upper back developed ever since I got the job 2 months ago. I really had no idea where it came from and thought it was just a bad case of acne on my back but the more I think about it I think its from the material of my uniform from work. Its is 60% cotton and 40% polyester! ITS KILLIN MY BACK AND NECK WITH REDNESS THAT IS SO SENSITIVE!!HELP!!

Skin irritation to shirt material?
dont wear the shirt anymore
Reply:put some savlon on it or windex.
Reply:Do you launder your own uniforms or does your employer have a laundry service who cleans them? Could be an allergy to a detergent used in the laundry.
Reply:if u still work there take a dose of benadryl b4. it works! my cuz had a skin irritation to a swim suit and chlorine at once and she always takes it.
Reply:wear some Cotton t -shirt under your shirt it really helps or if u don't like it see doctor
Reply:well get itchingream and if that doesnt work then getan undershirt and see if that helps!
Reply:can you wear an all cotton tshirt underneath your uniform?

Go to your supervisor and ask them about alternatives? Go to a Dr get soem creme for it!

Or make your own remedy out of corn starch and water......good luck! hope your back /skin feel better soon!
Reply:How is your uniform jacket cleaned? Are you allergic to the dry cleaning or laundry detergent?

Do you get sweaty under your uniform? Is it made of synthetic material? If your skin can't get air when you are sweating, it can cause a rash.

You could be allergic to the polyester thread that is used to sew the armpits %26amp; sleeves, that has happened to me.

I recommend that you wear a 100% cotton undershirt that you wash in a perfume-and-dye free detergent and rinse twice.

You can also use Stitch Witchery to bond some soft white cotton fabric to the inside of your uniform jacket.

Good luck!

Skin irritation......?

iam 21 weeks pregnant. for the past few day i have this itching on my belly and i have red rashes also. my friends says you get this when you are pregnant. i live in UAE, is this because of the hot climate here or because the pregnant body produces more heat.

Skin irritation......?
You're susceptible to all the same sources of rashes that you would ordinarily be, plus some that can be directly related to your pregnancy. Most rashes in either case, amount to nothing more than a temporary inconvenience, and a mild annoyance. Rarely, some can be a cause or a sign of bigger problems for mom or baby. Generally, if a rash lasts for more than two or three days, or if it becomes really incomfortable for you, you should have a dermatologist take a look at it.

In the mean time, NetDoctor has some info for you to start with. Rising temperatures coincide with a rise in pityriasis rosea, so that's another possiblity not mentioned on the NetDoctor site. I've put a link in for the American Academy of Dermatology for that one. And just in case you'd like to see what other moms-to-be had to say about rashes during pregnancy, the bottom link is to the Berkley Parents Network.

Best wishes for you and baby :-)
Reply:Its normal. I hear that most will get it around the 6 or 7th month if they get it, but if you are really concerned just give your doc and call and ask him.
Reply:It's because your skin is stretching...very itchy and very normal.
Reply:it can be pupps which is a pregnacy rash that does not go away until you have the baby it is not harmful to you or the baby just uncomfortable. i'm almost 40 weeks and i had this ever since i turned 35 weeks and it started on my belly all i can tell you is try(lol) not to scratch it and buy either dove senitive skin soap or a soap with a good moisture live aveeno body wash and buy aveen anti itch cream and baby oil and vasiline it keep the skin from drying out and relieves the itch

thank god i'll be done with pupps on fri i hope (LOL)

Skin irritation?

from bathroom cleaner "the works"

Skin irritation?
hi there, don't use it again, next time you clean your bathroom try using carbonated soda, i was advised this a few years ago, i thought it sounded daft at the time, but it really does get all the grime stains from the bath and sink with ease.

i hope this helps

Skin Irritation?

I have red dots spotted all over my legs that really sting. Could that be because I'm not moisterising after I shave? I tried putting aloe vera gel all over my legs but I was in absolute agony! Thanx.

Skin Irritation?
Overly sensitive skin possibly? Maybe using a different shaving. More so, why not just wax?
Reply:try to wet your legs and apply some soap or shaving cream before you shave..it sounds crazy but you have to protect your legs..those are razor burns..and it will really bring some agony..

Be sure to use a shaving gel/cream that has extra moisterizers and make sure your razor blade is very sharp. Also use an after shave calming gel/lotion.
Reply:it's razor burn use a diff razor
Reply:Experiment with different razors and shave creams to find the one that works best with your skin. Don't shave too close.

Skin irritation?

I have a painful raised mass of skin under my arm. Not sure if this was caused by shaving, depilatories or my deodorant. How do I get rid of it fast.

Skin irritation?
This sounds like something that happened to me. In my case, it was using that stinging type of deoderant right after shaving. Try using the powdered kind of deoderant instead of liquid and not right after shaving.
Reply:it may be egsama.. i have it on my elbows.. rub cordaid on it
Reply:Use Tend Skin its really good for skin irritations caused by hair removal or for ingrown hair...otherwise if it doesnt help just go to a dermatologist...and try not to have any deodrant on at night and clean the skin well and put TEND skin on and in a few days it should clear up....Good luck...
Reply:See a doctor.
Reply:It might be what's called a skin tag. Look it up. Sorry.
Reply:If it's a mass....it could be a boil. This is caused from dirt rubbing into the skin...causes a bad bump and pain. The best you can do, if this is the case, is keep it properly clensed...if the irritation and swelling occur for more than 2 days, I would contact your physician.
Reply:Why do you have to say that you are very clean?

Wouldn't that naturally be assumed, or would the natural assumption be the opposite?

OTC cortizone cream is only for short-term. Your skin gets "addicted" to it if used chronically.

If cortizone cream causes it to get worse (you would notice it almost immediately), it could be a fungus / yeast or bacterial infection. The cortizone makes them reproduce more.

Due to the fact that you say it is painful, you should see a doctor.

I don't think it is syphilis.

Skin irritation?

my skin is orangish pink splotchy on my arm and i ddoont know wht it is do you know what it could be

Skin irritation?

Reply:I don't know what it could be.Have it checked out by a doctor and you want have to guess.
Reply:It could be a fungal infection. Go see a dermatologist or look up pictures on the internet and see if anything corresponds to your rash and then go see a dermatologist.

Skin irritation..?

My 9 week old son has a irritation/sore in the crease of his neck. It's red and sort of looks like a wet gym floor burn. I don't know what it's from. The doctor told me to try to keep his neck stretched when he's sleeping so the air will help heal it but I don't know how to do that. He also had the same thing around the base of his penis but Desitin Creamy made it go away. I tried putting A%26amp;D ointment on his neck but it didn't seem to help. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, do you know what it's caused from? I try my best to keep his neck clean from the "cheese" (dried formula in his neck creases). Help!!

Skin irritation..?
try buying a moisturizer cream but get the scent free cream and spread some of this on his neck and see lf lt helps

Skin irritation?

yeaterday my face started itching and getting really irritated, and then still washed it at night, and its still not peeling. its itching and irritating me really bad though. should i keep usin the acne product of wait until irritation to go away?

Skin irritation?
Stop using the product and wait for at least 1 week before you resume usage. If you feel the irritation still, try using it for say once instead of twice daily. If after all these measures you still feel the irritation, then you need to stop %26amp; try something else.
Reply:Stop using the product!!!
Reply:stop using the product..it sounds like your allergic to it..
Reply:stop using the product see your dermatologist as soon as possible{assuming you have one} also i would say try using a warm or cool wash cloth and leaving it on your face and try soaking in the tub with some good oatmeal, chamomile, tea tree oils these might help relax your skin.
Reply:If you're using a product stop using it, it sounds like you're allergic. If it's just with water I think you need to start using a moisturiser for your recommended skin type :)

Reply:stop using the product - it may be too strong for your skin and is doing more damage than good.

My daughter had this too when she was about 4 months old. It was because of moisture on her skin after her bath I made sure to put powder all around her neck after her bath and it went away in about a week. She's almost 1 now and I still put powder under her neck and the redness has never come back.
Reply:Try to keep it clean and dry. Bag balm would be great to put on it a couple times a day. It is over the counter in a green tin. It is awesome for diaper rash.
Reply:They are a few things you can do our Pedi suggested for a 2 week treatment.

Cortizone for the 1st week 2x's a day, Anti-fungal for the 2nd week 2x's a day, make you wash w/ soap and water before apply; in between treatments just wipe under chin and put baby powder on your hand and rub under his neck make sure its cornstarch. And put on a bib only take it off while he's in the crib, sleeping or alone for more than 2-5 minutes.
