I was doing part time job at a seafood shop 7 years ago. I had quite a severe allergic reaction at that time, causing me red rashes all over my body, my skin was swolling and itchy, especially my hands. I have to wear gloves while at sleep because I might scratch and do more damage to my skin. Even been cured after medication, 7 years later, my skin still get rashes and itch from time to time. Is this a permanent damage to my skin or is't curable?
Remedy for skin irritation?
I can only tell you this from my experience. It sounds like you became sensitized to fish products when you had the first allergic reaction. And, if you are eating or touching fish, or having any fish products in your diet now, you are still having a mild reaction. Some people are so sensitive to seafood that anchovies in a Caesar salad dressing will set them off--fish oil in cooked food can do it, Sushi, crabcakes, etc. Touching seafood products can also do the same, in the form of hives.
Once a person is sensitized, they either need to avoid the things that make them break out or they can take allergy medication to become desensitized. An allergist would be the one to tell you what your chances are in that direction.
I wish you the best of luck!
Reply:i guess its curable....ur skin might also be dry...due to this u may hv itchy feeling...u dont u try applying almond oil regularly instead of using creams n stuffs lyk tht.
Reply:First you need to determine the cause of the rashes and itchy skin.
You may have dry skin which is contributing to the problem. Or you may be allergic to something you are coming in contact with. More people are becoming sensitive to all the chemicals and perfumes in our soaps and detergents.
Once you find the cause you should be able to control, if not cure, the problem.
I spent many years with eczema that was being caused by numerous allergies as well as being aggravated by dry skin. Once stopped eating the offending foods, changing to hypo-allergenic soaps/detergents, and eating a healthy diet including more fish (oil supplements help with dry skin), I am 98% cured.
